CARERS
We ensure that our carers:
- Have their own qualified worker to support them.
- Receive regular support.
- Can get support from support workers if it is needed.
- Receive a financial package that supports the child in placement and values them as a professional.
- have a personal training plan
- have access to independent advice
- have access to regular support groups
- have access to support from qualified staff 24/7
Approval Process
Before becoming a foster carer an assessment will be carried out by an Alpha Plus social worker who will work with you and your family to consider
- your suitability to become foster carers
- your training needs
- the type of fostering that you are best suited to
We do our best to ensure that your assessment is enjoyable throughout. It is important to us that you feel comfortable with the assessment process and are able to ask questions and raise any concerns that you have with us.
Training
Recent training for carers has included, Safer Caring, Education, Autism and Recording Skills.
Experienced carers from who transfer from other agencies or who have been with Alpha Plus for many years are encouraged to hand pick their own training, which fits with their experiences or gaps in practice.
