Alpha Plus Fostering Agency needs a creative, motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our team. The post will be home based, and initially be responsible for developing our services  within  Central, South and West Lancashire, whilst supervising a small number of  existing Foster Carers within the area.

 

The agency has excelled in providing a quality foster care provision for over 12 years and in November 2010 celebrated another ‘outstanding’ rating by Ofsted.  Alpha Plus is part of the National Fostering Agency Group and while we retain our own identify we have benefited from the support of NFA’s services including working with four other acquired fostering agencies nationwide.

 

Supervising Social Workers are responsible for managing resources in an allocated area, recruiting, assessing, supervising, training and supporting Foster Carers and their placements, ensuring that we provide quality and professional services.

 

You will devise, implement and support Foster Carer recruitment campaigns, focused on the communities and Local Authorities within the region. You will be responsible for achieving carer recruitment targets and developing and maintaining new and existing customer relationships. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbally, have good IT skills and be flexible and able to travel throughout the Lancashire region.


You will need to be an experienced qualified Social Worker and hold GSCC (or equivalent) registration, with a background in fostering, children’s services and child protection. You will possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services. The post holder will primarily work on their own initiative and we are therefore looking for an individual who is self motivated and able to meet targets. You must have a clean and full driving license and be able to produce this at interview.
